Eric Hampton at Dance Place

I’m still an infant in terms of my knowledge and understanding of Modern Dance. Swaddled n a blissful ignorance which comes with every new venture into an area of new-come unfamiliarity.
-But I have enjoyed every moment of it, and ever time I see a new performance, I feel I learn something, and gain the sense of appreciation my peers have come to know.
That being said, it is still within my right to be caught off guard by the unexpected, and Eric Hampton’s showcase at Dance Place exercised that right to the fullest! Few times do I get to see humor so well placed alongside raw emotion. But there it was, and it was moving, and not overbearing. The audience enjoyed themselves, the moments and the work. This was not merely a great show or performance. It was a grand time. And that is what a night out is all about.
