Anti-Trans Spitfire Audio Co-Founder Christian Henson emboldens Hate in the Composing Community

You would think, in the year 2022, we would have accomplished the great feat of tolerance and acceptance by now. Especially when it comes to the act of choosing your own life and freedom of body autonomy, yet there remains the encroachment of the bored, tired and aging conservative mind.

It is especially disenchanting to find these attributes alive and well within the Artistic realms. Of course, there are always exceptions to the rules and Christian Henson falls into that group. There comes with this revelation another issue, and that is the fallout which comes with hate. In 2022, we have seen Conservatives have mastered the ability to spin, adapt and corrupt language. The greatest use possibly growing from the term “Woke”. Woke was an expression invented by the Black Community in an effort to punctuate the idea of action and awareness. A rally to the cause and consciousness of the egregious behaviors of yesterday and today’s America. Conservatives did not like this, and would corrupt the word into new, sinister definition many on the left are still not clear on. Possibly, woke to them is defined as “caring too much” or “one that is over sensitive”. If there were to be a list of what might rank second it could surely be the word “Canceled”. Conservatives would love for you to believe this is a new phenomena, but it is not. In fact, when I was younger, we called this “Voting with Your Wallet”. With the advent of the internet, this term would be updated and Conservatives have decided that only they can become the victims of this “Cancel Culture”.. You’ve never seen a Conservative tweet that Hillary Clinton should be “Canceled” for her emails.

But Christian Henson was not Canceled, but he did give us a glimpse at the surface of his hate.

Christian Henson is the Co-Founder of Spitfire Audio, a software instrument company popular within the music composing community. While not as much a company face, that honor leaning toward co-founder Paul Thomson, (Who has also remained silent on the issue) he is nonetheless well known.

On September 5th, 2022, Henson Tweeted

As a parent I can no longer keep my mouth shut about this. I’m in full support of glinner (twitter-banned Graham Linehan) & @jk_rowling. (Author J.K. Rowling) Please look into this. If you have young children it’s in the post if you have autistic children it’s probably already on your doormat. (youtube video that does not seem to exist any more)

Amidst the tweet, Henson has his share of supporters. Of which seemed to have only read into his concern for young children. What they either failed to note or (ignore) was Henson’s lack of education on who he was supporting, let alone the issue itself.

J.K. Rowling is low-hanging fruit and everyone knows who she is. Most people in the USA would not recognize Graham Lineham but he is described by RationalWiki as a “transphobic bigot“.

Henson goes so far as to suggest the trans community is somehow coming after autistic children. There is no evidence to support this wildly un-educated opinion. There is no correlation between gender diversity and Autism and, as well stated by Florence Ashley, BCL/JD, LLM (Bioeth), “A diagnosis of Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) does not preclude being trans.”

There’s a real problem when you neglect to do your homework and, in a late night fit, latch on to people in an attempt to become credible. In 2022, the vocal support of someone with X opinion cements you into that same opinion. You don’t get to swipe just the drapery from the Pietà and expect Michael to not come looking for you.

If Christian Henson “fully supports” a Transphobic Bigot, Christian Henson is therefore a Transphobic Bigot.

Lastly, it cannot be stressed enough that thoughts left unsaid are no act of innocence or penance. Conversely, Silence is the most incriminating factor in the equation, for to NOT denounce something is to support it. (Do we require another History lesson?) Spitfire audio initially released statements on their social media regarding the manner.

There was no apology, nor comment from Henson himself, and while articles have circulated that Spitfire has forced Henson to step down from his roles and “take a break” from social media, there is no evidence to suggest Henson was actually suspended on paper, nor that, if so, he has not already returned. (His twitter “break” lasted less than a month, but our reporting on this issue will continue.) In fact, most seem to ignore that we only saw a slice of who Christian Henson really is. When someone expresses hate for one group, you have to expect there is more hate beneath that and until they say otherwise it is an apt argument. Christian Henson is anti-Trans, so it’s safe to say that until he speaks, he is also anti-LGBTQ. Next, we have to question if he is anti-woman or if he is racist. It is safe to say that until he speaks, we can assume the worst. In this 21st century, late night tweets that get deleted are the most genuine windows into an individual’s soul.

All of this leads us to question whether Spitfire Audio is sincerely committed to building a safe employee environment, as they continue to associate with Henson. (he remains on the website)

While the common opposition on youtube stems from people who are disappointed that being anti-other-group of people is encroaching on their “free speech” and “right to agree to disagree”, it only reveals they have no experience being part of a struggling minority. Their primary argument remains “grow a pair”, and their inability to comprehend their own incel or boomer (or both) is as baffling as their rejoicing in the shared hate of one of their own. “Good” is proactive, and the greatest fallacy of man is to believe that a good person is someone who simply does no evil. It goes both ways, and when you make the conscious effort to speak hatred toward a group (especially a comment so uneducated and poorly thought out as Henson’s) you become proactively evil.

As for Spitfire Audio, their credibility and everyone associated with them who remain silent, lay in question.
