The Process – A.J. Collabs at Atlas Arts Lab

Color Me (Curly): Detangled Stories is a multidisciplinary performance that explores the complex cultural, emotional, and political landscape of Black hair. Rooted in storytelling, this original work amplifies various narratives through a fusion of movement, voice, and sound—creating an intimate and powerful reflection on Black identity.

The Process – RAWRA at Atlas Arts Lab

RAWRA, a queer multidisciplinary artist, explores the intersection of the raw and the weird. Borrowing from Dr. Schultz of the Internal Family Systems psychology, “Our parts can sometimes be disruptive or harmful, but once they are unburdened, they return to their essential goodness. When we learn to love all our parts, we can learn to love all people– and that will contribute to healing the world.”

The Process – Sylvana Christopher

Sylvana Christopher leads a SylviDances rehearsal for her upcoming performance of Resonance at the 2025 icons choreographers’ collective, Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 2:00 and 7:00 PM at the Atlas Performing Arts Center! Emerging out of the darkness, re-sounding together and blossoming, Resonance features original music by John Lee, and choreographed by Sylvana Christopher, with costumes designed by Anne Liberman. Resonance features dancers Aaron Jackson, Keith Macadangdang, Deanna Woodman, Rachel Lawal and Sylvana Christopher.

The Process – Claire Alrich

Claire Alrich leads rehearsal for her upcoming show, make me a monument at Dance Place, March 21 & 22, at 7pm! Tangling the innate comedy of the body with its capacity for sublime beauty, make me a monument is a new, site-specific performance for the Dance Place theater. With post-modern dance, object theater, and a dash of musical theater razzle-dazzle, this work conceptualizes monument-making as a way of shaping communal spaces, celebrating mortality, and embodying memory. Featuring a collaborative cast of 8 dancers, an original sound score, and a morphing fabric set, this performance invites you (the audience) into a world that unwinds and rewinds, creates connections and shifts perspective.
