You Didn’t Boycott The Kennedy Center, Now Trump Has His Name On It.

I wrote an article in February about boycotting the Kennedy Center, and despite what I would call a solid case, you decided on a Diet Boycott with Lemon. -so Trump has renamed the Kennedy Center, placing his name first as "The Donald J. Trump and John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts". Now I'm back to tell you that this Diet Boycott with Lemon isn't going to work.

So you’ve decided to boycott the Kennedy Center…

I know it wasn't an easy decision, but, you're doing the right thing. Don't worry, it's natural to question whether or not this is, in fact, the right thing. Sometimes, even doing the right thing brings with it collateral damage, both internally and externally. It's especially difficult when the right thing directly affects those you care about. But in order to arrive at the right thing, you must break out the scale of Anubis and weigh your heart against the feather of Maat.

Kelly King and Keira Hart-Mendoza Lead Dance Protest of the Kennedy Center

Respected and highly accomplished dance artists/activists Kelly King and Keira Hart-Mendoza organized and choreographed a dancing protest on Monday, the 17th on the Kennedy Center grounds. About 50 local dancers and community members showed up in the 40-ish degree wind in response to the recent takeover of the Kennedy Center by the Trump administration. While there was minimal police and security interference, protesters were asked to refrain from waving flags. No posters with any writing were present, it can stand to reason they also would have been contested by police. The protest comes at an unofficial start of boycotting and push-back from the arts community on the Kennedy Center in light of its recent submission to Trump.
